Biographie
Johannes Kniess is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Political Philosophy at Newcastle University, UK. His research interests are in contemporary political philosophy and fall into two broad fields. The first is justice in health, including inequalities in health and life expectancy, state paternalism, and individual responsibility for health outcomes. The second strand focuses on global justice and human rights, in particular in the areas of international trade and investment, migration, and global governance. Beyond this, he also has interests in the history of political thought and animal ethics. His work has been published in journals such as Journal of Political Philosophy, Journal of Medical Ethics, and British Journal of Political Science. Johannes received his DPhil from the University of Oxford in 2017 and held postdoctoral positions at Princeton University and the European University Institute in Florence before taking up his position at Newcastle.
