Biography
Bob Fischer is a professor of philosophy at Texas State University, the Director of the Society for the Study of Ethics & Animals, and a Senior Research Manager at Rethink Priorities. He’s the author of Animal Ethics—A Contemporary Introduction (Routledge, 2020), co-author of Wildlife Ethics: The Ethics of Wildlife Management and Conservation (Wiley, 2023), and the editor of Weighing Animal Welfare: Comparing Well-being Across Species (Oxford University Press, 2024).
From February 1 to 28, 2026, Bob will be undertaking a research stay at the CRÉ as a visiting scholar, selected through the centre’s annual competition.
