Biography

PhD in philosophy (Université de Montréal, 2017), I specialize in the history and philosophy of life sciences. In recent years, my research has focused mainly on biological theories of development, especially those stemming from experimental embryology. My postdoctoral studies at the Institute of History and Philosophy of Science and Technology (IHPST) in Paris (2019-2021) focused on the opposition between mechanism and vitalism in the life sciences, particularly in the context of Claude Bernard’s epistemology. I’m currently involved in a project at the crossroads of environmental ethics and the history and philosophy of ecology, focusing on the concept of ecosystem (2023-2025).
