The Centre for Research in Ethics brings together researchers who are located on several Indigenous territories. The researchers acknowledge with gratitude the diverse Indigenous peoples whose presence in these territories is past, present, and future, and to acknowledge the applicable treaties. The Centre for Research in Ethics acknowledges that its activities take place primarily on the territory of what is now Montreal. This territory has long served as a site of meeting and exchange amongst Indigenous peoples, including the Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabeg. We honour, recognize and respect the Kanien’kehá:ka as the traditional stewards of the land and waters on which we conduct our activities. As scholars in ethics, we are committed to acknowledging and working to remedy historical and contemporary colonial injustices.
