Biography

Cassandre Pelletier is currently pursuing her master’s degree in political science at the University of Montreal under the supervision of Charles Blattberg. Holding a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Quebec in Montreal, her research fields include political philosophy, metaphysics, and ontology.

The goal of her master’s project is to develop a modern morality that is not based on feelings of guilt, resentment, and pity leading to self-renunciation and the advent of nihilism. She is interested in the question of negative morality and action through the thought of Friedrich Nietzsche. This question requires an ontological and metaphysical study of the relationship between the Self and the Other, as well as an analysis of the themes of responsibility, pity, freedom, vulnerability, identity, and diversion.
