Biography
Dr. Gaucher completed her training in pediatric emergency medicine at the Université de Montréal, with additional Biomedical Sciences PhD, Bioethics option. Dr. Gaucher is a clinician-scientist affiliated with the CHU Sainte-Justine Research Centre, and a member of the Bureau de l’Éthique Clinique of the Faculty of Medicine of the Université de Montréal, where she is responsible for ethics workshops for residents of specialized medicine.
Her research interests focus on ethical issues in the care of children with complex and chronic illnesses and in pediatric palliative care, ethical issues related to emergency care, and the emergency department care partnership. She is also interested in the impact of new technologies on the care relationship.
She has been a member of the Commission de l’Éthique en Science et Technologie du Québec (CEST) since 2021 and chair of the scientific committee of the Journée d’éthique clinique, organized annually by the Bureau de l’éthique Clinique since 2018.
