Le Centre de recherche en éthique (CRÉ) représente un lieu de rassemblement et de création de synergies pour les chercheurs de plusieurs universités québécoises et d’une école affiliée. Il constitue un lieu d’excellence pour l’encadrement des étudiants des cycles supérieurs et des stagiaires postdoctoraux travaillant sur des sujets de recherche liés à la mission du Centre.

Le Centre est à la recherche de candidatures exceptionnelles qu’il pourra appuyer pour une bourse de recherche postdoctorale Banting. La bourse Banting est une prestigieuse bourse de 70 000 $ par an, d’une durée de deux ans. Lancée en 2011 par le Conseil de recherche en sciences humaines du Canada (CRSH), elle insiste sur « la synergie entre le mérite individuel d’un candidat et ses chances d’entreprendre une carrière fructueuse axée sur la recherche et l’engagement de l’établissement hôte envers le programme et le milieu de recherche auxquels le candidat sera associé. »

Le CRÉ offre, depuis la naissance en 2002 de son prédécesseur, le CRÉUM, un environnement de recherche qui combine avec succès les priorités des chercheurs et du Centre. C’est d’ailleurs une particularité du Centre de mobiliser toutes ses ressources pour aider ses chercheurs résidents à développer leur projet de recherche en accord avec les priorités de recherche du CRÉ (éthique et méta-éthique, politique, économie, environnement et santé). La plus belle réussite du Centre est ainsi d’avoir accueilli des événements de première importance qui ont grandement contribué tant à l’avancement de la recherche qu’à la carrière de ses chercheurs résidents qui, pour la majorité, ont obtenu un poste dans une université importante à leur sortie du Centre.

La bourse Banting est ouverte à tous les candidats canadiens et internationaux qui ont complété leur doctorat entre novembre 2011 et décembre 2014.  Les personnes intéressées à candidater pour cette bourse doivent nous contacter immédiatement en nous faisant parvenir leur CV détaillé et un projet de recherche relativement détaillé. La date limite, pour cette première étape de prise de contact avec le CRÉ, est le 30 juin 2014. Veuillez noter qu’il faut avoir une compréhension passive de l’anglais pour soumettre une application au CRSH dans le cadre de ce concours, via le CRÉ.

The Centre de recherche en éthique (CRÉ) brings together researchers from numerous universities in Quebec, as well as one affiliated school, visiting researchers, post-docs, and graduate students working on subjects related to the mission of the Centre.

The Centre is inviting outstanding applications it could support for a Banting postdoctoral research fellowship. The Banting programme offers a prestigious fellowship of CAN$ 70 000 per year for a duration of two years. Launched by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) in 2011, the programme insists on the synergy between the applicant’s “individual merit and potential to launch a successful research-intensive career” as well as on the host institution’s “commitment to the research program and environment with which the applicant is to be affiliated.”

The CRÉ offers, since its foundation in 2002 as CRÉUM, a research environment that successfully combines the research agendas of its members. One of the strengths of the Centre lies in mobilizing all available resources to help its members to develop their projects in one of five research axes (metaethics, ethics and politics, ethics and economics, ethics and health, ethics and the environment). The Centre organizes and hosts numerous academic events in these fields. A majority of its postdoctoral fellows go on to tenure-track positions when leaving the CRÉ.

The Banting postdoctoral fellowship is open to all Canadian and international candidates who have completed their doctorat between November 2011 and December 2014. Those interested in applying should contact us immediately with a detailed CV as well as a relatively detailled research project. The deadline for this first contact with the CRÉ is the 30th of June 2014. Note that basic French is a prerequisite for applying for a Banting postdoctoral fellowship through the CRÉ.
