Creation of the “Mouvement Entreprises Vertes Québec” (MEVQ)

Alexandre Gajevic Sayegh (Laval University) is pleased to announce the creation of the Mouvement Entreprises Vertes Québec (MEVQ), of which he is the co-director. This is a project to support and mobilize businesses in the National Capital Region which aims to support them in the energy transition and the concrete reduction of their GHG emissions.

Mouvement Entreprises Vertes Québec (MEVQ) is a mobilization and action project based on the reality and needs of businesses, which relies on innovation in order to integrate and accelerate the transition into business models and practices. Its deployment is carried out through an adapted, structured and complementary offer of scientific, operational and business support. More specifically, it is a call to companies located in Quebec’s industrial parks to join a collective regional movement promoting commitment to action towards the energy transition and the passage to a green economy.

The MEVQ project is made up of 3 components:

  • A mobilization component which involves the production of a survey portrait of the transition in Quebec businesses and the launch of a movement membership campaign to encourage their commitment.
  • A scientific support component to facilitate collaboration between researchers, Quebec business managers and experts, by developing tailor-made tools, such as case studies and training, to meet the challenges of the transition and transfer practical knowledge and innovations.
  • An operational and business support component to align companies with environmentally friendly practices, providing advice on improving performance and access to resources, while encouraging the exchange of good practices within existing support networks.

This regional expertise project illustrates the desire of members of the business community, the collectivity and the research field to give impetus to the innovative capacity of the greater Quebec region by creating adapted tools and support to the regional context and needs. In addition, this group of experts in economic development, collective development and research from the Quebec region offers an original, concerted and co-constructed approach. This marks the starting point of a vast regional mobilization aimed at further supporting innovation and promoting the appropriation and integration of green economy issues within our companies and our organizations.
